Studies at the Haartman Institute

Haartman provides basic medical teaching as well as medical specialist and researcher training. The Institute also trains hospital microbiologists and dental students.

The basic medical instruction is in clinical theory. The education stresses pathogenesis and disease-induced genetic changes.

Clinical specialist training is provided in clinical microbiology, pathology and medical genetics.

Postgraduate training relates to research and doctoral education. Much of the Institute's research is performed as work towards a doctoral degree. A portion of the training takes place in a doctoral programme, especially through the Helsinki Biomedical Graduate School.
