Specialist Training

The Institute provides specialist medical training in clinical microbiology, pathology and medical genetics.

Individuals who have received the right or permission to practise medicine in Finland may pursue a specialist degree in medicine. A certificate of adequate Finnish or Swedish skills is required of individuals who have completed their basic medical training outside of Finland.

The right to pursue studies as a specialising physician should be sought after the applicant has been selected to a doctor in training, locum tenens or other position that qualifies for the training.
