Department of Clinical Chemistry and Haematology

Laboratory medicine: clinical chemistry and haematology is a diagnostic discipline. Laboratory tests in clinical chemistry and haematology have a key role in the diagnostics and follow-up of diseases as well as in the assessment of disease risks.

The discipline of clinical chemistry and haematology is responsible for university-level undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education in the field. Basic instruction is given to medical and dental students as well as to those in the Master's degree programme in translational medicine. The discipline is also responsible for the education of specialists in clinical chemistry as well as for the specialist training in hospital chemistry for the degree of Licentiate of Philosophy.

The clinical chemistry unit conducts top-level research in the field and offers the opportunity to complete advanced studies, junior doctor training as well as postgraduate research education. It cooperates closely with HUSLAB Clinical Chemistry and Haematology as well as with various specialities.
